Welcome to Flint! Flint is a dating and social discovery platform operated by MOONDIVE LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Flint mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using Flint, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Your privacy and data security are extremely important to us.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, OS version, device ID, app version, IP address
- Location: Approximate location for matching (you control this in settings)
- Usage Data: How you interact with the app (swipes, likes, matches, time spent)
- Technical Data: Crash logs, performance metrics, error reports
2.3 Third-Party Information
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email, name, and profile photo (optional). We also receive analytics data from Firebase.
3. How We Use AI & Make Automated Decisions
Flint uses artificial intelligence to help you find better matches and stay safe.
Here's what you need to know about how AI works in Flint:
🔒 Face Verification
We verify your identity by comparing your selfie video to your profile photos using AI face recognition. This helps keep the Flint community safe and authentic.
How it works:
- You upload a selfie video during onboarding
- AI compares your video to your profile photos in real-time
- If matched, you receive a "Verified" badge
- Your video becomes part of your ProShow (shown to matches)
What we store:
- ✓ Your selfie video (as part of your ProShow)
- ✓ Your profile photos
- ✓ Verification status (verified ✓ or not)
What we DON'T store:
- ✗ Facial geometry templates or feature vectors
- ✗ Biometric identifiers extracted from your face
Important: Face comparison happens in real-time using AWS Rekognition. No separate facial templates are created or stored.
Data Retention: Your selfie video and photos are part of your profile and remain until you delete your account. To delete: Settings → Account → Delete Account.

✨ Sparks Curation
Instead of endless swiping, we show you a curated selection of profiles called "Sparks." Our AI analyzes your preferences and behavior to suggest people you're likely to connect with.
What the AI considers when curating your Sparks:
- • Your dating preferences (age, distance, interests)
- • Profile information (bio, hobbies, photos)
- • How you interact with profiles (who you Crush/Crash)
- • What makes you unique and what you're looking for

Technology: OpenAI Embeddings
🤖 Wingmate AI Assistant
Wingmate is your personal AI dating assistant. You can ask for date ideas, conversation starters, or profile improvement tips.
Important: When you chat with Wingmate, your questions and some profile context are processed by OpenAI. OpenAI does NOT use this data to train their models.
What Wingmate can see:
- • Your questions and chat history with Wingmate
- • General profile information (to give personalized advice)
- • Your location (to suggest nearby date spots)
What Wingmate CANNOT see: Your private messages with matches, sensitive profile details

🛡️ Safety & Moderation
We use AI to automatically detect and prevent harmful content like hate speech, harassment, or inappropriate photos.
Your messages and photos are scanned for safety issues to protect you and the community. Detected violations may result in warnings or account suspension.

6. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: Data retained while your account is active
- Verification Data: Selfie video and profile photos retained for account lifetime, permanently deleted within 7 days of account deletion
- Deleted Accounts: Personal data permanently deleted within 7 days, backups within 30 days
- Messages: Stored for account duration, deleted messages removed within 7 days
- Legal Requirements: Some data retained longer if required by law

8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:

- • AI Safety: Face verification, toxicity detection, report monitoring

Note: No system is 100% secure. Use a strong password and report suspicious activity immediately.
9. Children's Privacy
Flint is strictly for users 18 years of age and older.
We do NOT knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we discover an underage account, it will be deleted immediately. Parents: contact safety@flint.app if you believe your child has an account.
10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate (AWS, Google, etc.). We ensure appropriate safeguards:

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you via in-app notification and email. Continued use of Flint after changes means you accept the updated policy.
